StarVie and UI Sports sign one of the best #NEXTGEN players in the Japanese padel, Leon Aurelius Taira, who becomes the first player to be sponsored by StarVie, Padel Asia and UI Sports at the same time.

At just 18 years of age, Leon has just finished an astonishing season where he became the youngest player to win an Open category tournament in the Japan Padel Tour, specifically in Tokyo and Nara. Additionally, he took part in the Junior World Championship as a Team Captain of Japan and he finished the season as a ranking number 13 in the Japanese National Padel Ranking.

“Starvie and UI sports both have an amazing reputation here in Japan for their amazing service and wonderful staff! As I aim for the top, I look forward to the support of padel’s top organization”

Leon’s first goal for this forthcoming season as a StarVie player is to become the youngest player to win the Japanese National Championship. It is not an easy endeavour however he will head to CAR StarVie in Spain where he will spend the whole next month to learn and improve his game to try it. In addition, he will also play next to the current number 1 of the ranking, Shungo Kusakabe, with whom he will kick off as a seed number 1 of the tournament.

As for UI Sports and StarVie, both entities are very happy to have a player with such a brilliant future in the team.  Leon’s positive mind-set and hard work will help us to share our vision and values throughout Japan and beyond.

LEON, WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY!!!
