It is an honour for StarVie and UI Sports to introduce the first ever Japanese woman of our team, Rio Yamada. She currently holds the 12th position in the Japanese ranking and she almost counted for victories all her 2018 tournaments appearances.
After a 2018 where she could not enjoy all domestic tournaments due to work issues, she is coming back with the clear aim to be on the top 4, position that could allow her to be on the Japanese National Team for the 2020 World Championship.
Rio Yamada: “I am honored to be part of this family. Since the beginning I was excited to share the same team with such an amazing professional players who I admire. I am definitely sure that I am supported and surrounded by the right people to achieve what is my dream: to be part of the National Team in the World Championship in 2020”
It is well-known that StarVie strongly bets for the genre equality and a proof of that is the number of players that represent the brand in the professional circuit (World Padel Tour). Names such as Majo and Mapi Sánchez Alayeto, Carolina Navarro, Cecilia Reiter, Bea González are some of the women who have been supported by the brand for many years. In the same way, StarVie and UI Sports will follow in the same footsteps here in Japan.
Rio Yamada will help us to gain presence in the Women’s Japan Padel Tour circuit and we do believe she will be very relevant in the forthcoming season.
RIO, WELCOME TO OUR TEAM! WE DO WISH WE WILL BE ABLE TO HELP YOU OUTPERFORM YOUR OWN EXPECTATIONS WITH US!
